A residential-style week of trial pits, core logging, and evening debriefs for engineers who need consistent BS EN ISO descriptions under real weather and real time pressure.
What the week covers
Mornings begin on active or training investigation sites across the West Midlands. You log with a partner, photograph core boxes to a shared standard, and reconcile descriptions before lunch.
Afternoons return to the Birmingham classroom for ground-model sketches, water-strike plots, and peer review of the morning’s sheets. Tutors mark unclear rows the same day so habits correct before the next hole.
